Need Help, Flywheel Removal 86 CMX250

I am trying to remove the flywheel from the 86 250 project motor because the starter clutch needs attention. I have 2 different wheel pullers but they won't fit properly, I am having to rig up some 1/4 inch all thread rod to go thru the holes in the bottom of the wheel. I'm assuming the wheel is a slip on with a key...is this correct? I was trying to put some heat on the shaft but I'm afraid I'm going to melt the plastic around the magnets. Anyone got any advice on this? I have the manual and it isn't any help it just suggests a honda flywheel removal tool which I don't have. I'm surprised but my Clymers manual doesn't have any info at all that I can find. Regards, Chef

I damaged too much of the back hub part of mine to put it on the one you sent (where the pins and such go-not sure if the two are compatible either), so I ordered one off of eBay. This one is an 85.
Apparently the threads in it are bad or it is a different size than the 86 because even with a "trimmed" flywheel puller it's not coming off. Found a few bumps in the threads when I traced them with a pick. There's no wobble with it though. At least that's good.

Edit: turns out that the bolt should fit, the size is the same (as I figured)... Not sure what to do yet, gonna contact the ebay seller with "not sure how to get this off yet, but I'll keep you updated"

I'm just livid with how this is going. I contacted the seller; a tap ($20-25) and new puller ($15) will run me about $40-$50 -- there's a black hole in the center of this thing that's sucking in all my money.

But yes, depending on how things go with the seller (unfortunately I can't find a phone number) -- but he's got a satisfaction guarantee on there, so I'm hoping things will go well. As far as the not-the-best-parts-from-ebay thing goes, when I go with a seller with good feedback, they usually refund the money from the broken/unusable parts without a hassle.

Alright, so I got it all back together, though it's not starting. After a day on the trickle charger I still have the chug-chug-chug. The neutral light doesn't turn on, and I can't start it without the clutch, like it's in gear but the rear wheel turns like neutral.

I think it might have to do with the neutral wire; I'm going to try taking that back off.

But I also got Darryl's center stand on too! Which is really awesome.
