Welcome to the forum.

The 85-87 carbs are available online.

But if you want to go with some more available ones, you can use some from the 1996-2016 years. They will work too, but you'll need to replace the intake manifold with one from those years to do so.

There were 5 or 6 last week on eBay
today i find only one

Another option is to replace with 2nd generation 96-2016 intake manifold and carb as a pair..
There are far more 2nd gen carbs floating around than there ever were of 1st gen versions..
Brand new 2nd generation carbs are still available for about $100 more than many used off eBay.
Where and how do you know if it's the correct fit? Mines 06 cmx250c I'm on looking.

Had it at a shop he said the carb is a total loss. Pretty upset about it. So now I'm scrambling to find one that will fit without being $$$
Did they give the carburetor back? Jack's Rebel Warehouse rebuilds them if you want to go to someone that really knows what they're doing.

WHAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT!!!??? :eek::eek::eek:

If they didn't give the carb back, I would suspect their employee ruined it through negligence. I'd want it back or them to pay for a replacement carb. Something doesn't smell right. :poop: Did they charge you for working on the carb too?

My thoughts are similar. That's why I suggested Jack's.

They are replacing and no charge for labor. I got a used 06 carburetor from a Junk yard 45min from my AO. I got lucky found a place that was taking all parts off. Got a bunch of parts for future. I wanted the whole bike but they already torn it apart.

Unfortunately, this is an English only site. Please use a translation service to make a post.

The '85-87 are hard to find. I usually find that buying a complete parts Rebel cheaper & easier than finding a specific part. I hope this helps.

Was your carburetor missing? Rebuilding one isn't at all hard, & at least here in the USA, rebuild kits cost only around $15US.

ANY FIRST GEN CARBS STILL AVAILABLE? I need a single carb for 1985 Rebel.
Might i suggest upgrading to second generation NEW Rebel carburetor?

You would need to install 2nd gen intake manifold abt $25-$35 used off eBay plus new 16100-KEN-B11 found on eBay for approx $350 is the way to go imo..
lower intake manifold studs, O-rings & paper gasket are only additional cost of upgrade to 2nd gen carb that has all parts still available..

The cost of an entire parts 1st gen Rebel, including the carburetor, is normally less than just the carb alone or the cost of the conversion. I've purchased 3 in the past 10 years, all $200 or less. My daily rider was one of these, but it was too nice to use for parts.

Just a suggestion.

Welcome to the forum.

AFAIK, only the 1985-87 carbs will fit the 1985 engine.

Where is yours leaking? The bowl gasket and O-rings, which are the most likely causes for leaks, are still available.

Welcome!

These carbs are pretty easy to get right, even for a relative novice. I've used the <$15 rebuild kits, reusing all metal parts but the float valve & have had good success.

A few have put on the Mikuni carbs, with some working out well. But the best way is usually the simplest.

Even if the carburetor was somehow destroyed & no 1st generation carbs were available, I'd buy a 1996-2016 intake manifold & carb to replace any of mine.

Keep the old so long as it's good. Accept the new as soon as it's proved better.

@Thelittlerider199 all depends on how trashed your bike is I suppose as to whether Mikuni is a fair option.. I'm with Emil with upgrading a fairly stock Rebel using 2nd gen intake & carb as they maintain Honda's design and look should complete replacement be required..

Hardest part of reconditioning the carb is breaking loose the 4 bowl screws unless one or more have loosened causing leakage.. Typically the o-ring bowl gasket shrinks and seeps leaving yellow gas stain around bowl or the float needle valve is stuck or worn causing fuel to overflow both of which are easy to remedy. accelerator pump could seep/leak another simple fix
