There were 5 or 6 last week on eBay
today i find only one

Another option is to replace with 2nd generation 96-2016 intake manifold and carb as a pair..
There are far more 2nd gen carbs floating around than there ever were of 1st gen versions..
Brand new 2nd generation carbs are still available for about $100 more than many used off eBay.

Welcome to the forum. The first generation carb has different size jets and a larger slide and diaphragm than second generation. The first generation bikes had a little more horsepower than the second.

I have some first generation carbs that I rebuilt and are for resale.

I don't reply, because I don't need them.....YET.....
Hopefully I can continue to maintain the 3 that I have & leave those for they that REALLY need them.
It's so good to see that they are still available!! THANKS!

I've had folks express interest in the ones I have, and I'm charging slightly less than redeemer1972. When I tell them the price, 95% of the time I never hear from them again.

Amen! If you are going to replace it though, please don't trash the clogged one. It can be cleaned & made to work like new with just a little effort.

I'd suggest sending a PM to redeemer1972
he always has some available. But flitecontrol should have a few too.
Other than that, Jack's Rebel Warehouse should have some.

I currently have the last of my first-generation carbs promised to others. There's a seller on ebay that usually has some. Think he charges $225 each. Do you have a carb that just needs cleaning?

The '85 - '87 carbs will all work just fine. Although from what we've discussed in the past, those made in 1985 had a little larger jets.

I still have some spare Rebel carb parts. Would have to see if I still have enough for a complete first generation carb. The CM250 carb is different in many ways from a Rebel carb. I suppose almost anything could be made to work with enough expertise and deep pockets, but not sure how or if the Rebel carb would fit on the CM250 engine. Maybe a CM250 owner will chime in.

I would think a refurbished CM250 carb would be the easiest option. CM250 carbureator for sale | eBay

That is out of my current budget.I'm trying to get some more cash coming in. Do you know what part #2 is in this exploded view? On the needle jet. I don't have that, and I CAN'T find ANY pic or description anywhere. I'm also missing the little washers or whatever above the fuel mix adj screw. Thanks.

Part #2, the needle jet set, looks like the needle, a threaded cap to hold it in place, an O-ring (not sure what it's for) and another unidentified part on top. It looks like the fuel mix screw set is similar to the Rebel's as there is the screw, spring, washer, and O-ring. You might be able to find the washer and O-ring sizes through an online search. A hobby/radio controlled model store may have the correct size washer and places that sell gaskets or O-rings the size needed.

Caleb, I deleted your email address as it tends to attract scammers. Please send redeemer 1972 a personal message/conversation through the forum.

Hey there,
Newbie to the forum here. I noticed that there is mention of a 1st gen and 2nd gen carburetor. I picked up a 85 Rebel 250 and the previous owner told me the motor had been swapped with a 2006. Does this negatively affect having a 1st gen single carb? Should I actually have a 2nd gen double carb?

Welcome to the forum!
I think that some of the Stateside members may still have one or two, but beware of anyone that wants you to go to an offsite location. Especially, a 1st time poster with 'exactly what you need'.
