If I remember right, I got my '09 250 up to about 75 on the flats. i backed off just before the pistons started swapping holes. Decided then to truck it instead of riding it from Lex., KY to Atl., GA. The little Island I live on & shipped it to, 40-45 mph is screaming. They just aren't X-country touring bikes.
A stock Rebel will run wide open for as long as you can stand to ride it. It will sound like the engine is going to blow up, but it won't .Feed it gas and oil as needed. If you get creative with cone filters, shorty pipes, etc, YMMV. These machines have been precisely engineered for weight and cost.

With being a backwoods engineer, being 130lbs, and a calibrated aftermarket speedometer I was able to reach 118mph (189.9kph). I’ve been trying to check for a high compression head/piston and they appear to be stock.
I think the guy I bought it from is a wizard.

The pistons should start swapping holes at that rpm ! Must have non-stock sprockets. Find it hard to believe. Certainly not stock and even freefall wouldn't even reach that speed.
110 km/h on a flat, fairly empty, dry highway. I think it would have gone up to 120 if I'd wanted it to. My bike is stock and I'm 180 lbs (yes we like to mix metric and imperial up here... ;))
I doubt that it would go 120! That’s a tall tail or wishful thinking.. I’ve been 106 mph and that’s modified 2-1 pipe really good tune on carb with it striped me at 125lbs
120 Km/h= 75mph ;)

But I think 106 mph is wishful thinking.
Or do you have a 450 Engine

Nope it’s a 85’ 250 Honda rebel! I made a 2-1 exhaust with a muzzy ninja zx-11 muffler really good carb set up with jets and tuned . I ran along side a 78 honda 650cc he confirmed that speed several times with a few mph difference. Unknown distance I’m assuming 1 mile or better. I also have a turbo set up now on you tube that hasn’t been finished because of life events but could in time be way faster? Or not lol

That's amazing! I'd like to see a video of you going 106 mph on an '85 CMX250. Calculations say that the engine speed would be at 12,553 rpm at that velocity.

That I like to see too, but a picture of the bike would also be nice.
Do you changed transmission?
Do you had the bike on a Dyno, to see HP and Torque?
That's right up there with the guy who said he took 90 degree turns at 60+ mph.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I always thought 90 degrees was always the same, unless the rider is in a space/time continuum. I was thinking of the former forum member, whose username I don't recall, who claimed astronomical gas mileage and fantastic speeds through higher gearing. He also claimed to make sharp turns at unbelievable speeds. He managed to get banned from two Rebel forums, one of which no longer exists.

It was all the rpm that the stock vid would put out ! The crankcase pressure was so bad it blew oil all over my leg and bike, I only had a breather open vent no catch can or pvc but I had it up to that speed no lie .I’ve moved past that project and sold the bike and didn’t shoot any videos of that build . I’m working on a different rebel project for the salt flats one day? But life has kept me from making time as I have produced videos on YouTube . All you do is type in honda rebel 250 turbo and I have some videos if you haven’t already seen them ?

I didn't see any videos of a motor with turbo running but the channel seems familiar - have you been a member here before?

You won’t see a video of it running! I got mad at people for being jerks alway just wanna hear it run and make jerk comments about how long it has been so I just said I wasn’t showing anything what I make or do ! I started making rebel boxers years ago before it was popular I have a lot of production parts I made that I was going to produce but my ideas are mine and people steel them . So unless you know me personally you won’t see me show off much anymore. I’ve blown up many motors testing stability and carb setups, gears and shift points try can go slots faster but takes money! Costs tons for custom forged pistons need 10 made at a time over 100$ a pr piston with rings.
Okay such a bike may run 100mph.
But I would not call these a CMX anymore, rather a custom that's made with a rebel as basis.

It’s still a cuz honda rebel ! Still a cmx frame engine and title can’t change it just like dna ! If we at talking about purists I guess not but far as I know I’m the only person who has fully invested in real custom bought or professionally produced aftermarket performance parts that make it faster than stock besides bolt on overly price Jardine exhaust and off the self carb jet kits that are universally packaged?
If that ist still a Rebel I would say it's up to debate or opinion.
Of course a bike will always bee bike A or B in the title (also this may depends on local laws) .
In my opinion if a bike is so modified beyond a point where it becomes a other kind of bike, which is the case here, it should not be compared with a (relative) stock one.
Wich is the Point if this thread, I guess.
Anyway this is just my opinion and the bike is cool nevertheless.

Of course the Question arises why do such modification to a bike like the Rebel?
The answer must of be of course:
For the Fun of it. :) (y)

They made so many of them and how beautiful is it to learn and make mistakes with such an inexpensive bike! It’s versatile and very had to get more power out of a small cc engine! if it isn’t easy everyone would try it. I’m just brave enough to dump lots of time and money into it
I can get 81 down a slight hill. I cruise at 70 with traffic on the highway. Stock sprockets fixing to be 15/30 though, will update. 40 pilot jet 108 main although will b going back to 38 pilot and up to a 110 main, tip baffles removed only. 05 rebel.
