My top speed has been in excess of the 85 mph on the dial several times.
That is riding with the wind at my back on level or downhill roads.....at WOT.
Don't get the chance to do that too often, with speed limits and all, but the Rebel can get up an go, if you have the space to do it........:whistling:

i've gotten my old '83 cm upto about 100(km/h) (63 mp/h) on a flat, but whoever owned it before me put a damn 14/38 setup on it, tomorrow i fix it somewhat by getting a 30T rear sprocket

Got mine to 80, no problem

So I was on a nice, clear, dry, open highway yesterday with no traffic and just decided to see how fast my little Belle would go. I got her up to 80, no problem, and I'm sure I could have gotten another 5 mph (i.e. red-lined 5th gear). If I had wanted.

That's certainly plenty fast for me!

Sounds like something is definitely wrong with your bike. I've had mine to 85+ and it didn't vibrate any more than it does at 50 which isn't much. You may have a tire out of balance.

well then somethings wrong with your bike. I'd get it checked out. Almost sounds like valves need adjusting and a tune up probably. I can get to 55 no problem in 4th gear with plenty of power to spare and I weigh twice what you do.

+1 def something not right. My 09 (with under 100 miles on it) will do 80 pretty easy even with stock gearing. I wouldn't call it vibrating (that is what V-twins do) as much as it is buzzing (that's what I-4s do). Since ours are I-2s it would be closer to buzzing than vibrating.

You should be able to hit 75 with no problem.. Check air filter, plugs, ,, Should not be any vibration from wheels unless out of balance,, Take it to a trusted bike shop..
