was a member of Delta divers dive club in San Diego during late 60's.. rather rare Valor Abalone pry bar/knife wasn't produced until the 80's according to one site

No I don't have abalone bar. been 5 decades since i've been diving.
Never went back to San Diego after military service

no, you're both right in a way tho - it does handle some type of matter

also, it produces something from the matter

looks like brass - i don't think it's critical to it's primary function but probably used for strength, flexibility, corrosion resistance, machinability
