Hello all,

Back again with questions per fixing up a 1985 250. This time around I went to change the fork oil as I was waiting for the new spokes to come in from bike bandit. I loosened the triple tree, unscrewed the fork upper cap bolt, put the drain pan beneath the fork and found this on the left fork:

It looks like parts 19 (BOLT, SOCKET (8X27) 90116-383-721) and 22 (WASHER, SPECIAL (8MM) 90544-283-000) are missing (1985 Honda CMX250C A FRONT FORK | Cheap Cycle Parts). Is there anything else that I'm overlooking?

In the meantime, the bottom of the right fork seems to be in good shape, insofar as all of the parts are there:

Also, would like to express my gratitude to the forum for all of the good-will and generous advice that has allowed me, with zero mechanical experience, to make inroads in fixing this motorcycle. It has been a real pleasure for me. Thanks all.

there is no cap on that side - the fork is threaded to receive the axle

Thanks, 01-7700. To confirm: no bolt at the bottom of the fork? I don't see any threads now that I'm shining flashlight up there. Out of curiosity, what is the mechanism that blocks the fluid on that side from leaking?

The bottom of the fork has no openings other than the small drain screw on the side.
