Rotella T4 Usable instead of 10w40 for warmer weather?

Been using 10w30 for winter and rotella t4 1 gallon costs about the same as 2 quarts of 10w40. I ask because I dont know how a slightly thicker oil will affect the engine

I use 10w40 and top up with 20w50 in summer
Than again I don't ride when temps are below 40°F where 10w30 would be an appropriate oil weight
