Hey everybody, long time reader - first time poster. Just a quick question: I've been having trouble with my choke/enricher not doing anything, seemed to be stuck open since the engine was running rich. Cable and plunger seem to work just fine. Pulled the carb for a clean & rebuild but noticed the casing had taken a few hits right around the enricher plunger channel. Just wondering if this would cause the choke to stay open? Is it an issue or only cosmetic?

unhook plunger from cable (don't lose spring) insert plunger into bore, hold in place and blow lightly (i'd use my mouth) into float bowl enricher pickup.. does the enricher valve leak?

Alright I tried that and unfortunately with plunger in place I can definitely hear air escaping somewhere.. 😒

Is the plunger seated all the way?

Rebuilt & installed carb, running smoother for sure. but the choke still seems stuck open. I checked the cable - plenty of slack, no kinks and lubed. Bad plunger or spring perhaps?

As Flite said, make sure it seats!
