Yes I'm new to riding and have just bought my first bike. The Rebel is great, but the mirrors only seem to have a minimal adjustment, all I can see is my sleeves. Are there after market extensions or something I can use to be safer? I have tried to adjust them, but I cant see poopie behind me! I can't wait for spring! Any suggestions? You all were a HUGE help with my 2004 garage kept, not starting problem!:p

Yeah, they do stand up like antennae. It'd be much easier to replace them with ones who's stems are more horizontal - just about any replacement. Jack's has some, although any 10mm will fit. Avoid those made for Yamaha as their threading is reversed for the left mirror.

Welcome. The mirror stems can be rotated if the lock nut at the bottom of the stem is loosened. That, and the adjustment of the mirror head should get you where you want to be. Be sure to retighten the lock nut.

You could get aftermarket mirrors that have longer or more angled stems, just be aware that you might have to use metric adapters on some to be able to mount them in the stock location. Another option are clamp on long stem mirrors. JCWhitney might be a place to start looking...

They replace the stock bar end weights. Remove the weights and slide them inside the bars. If the weights are already gone and after market grips cover the hole in the end of the bars, you'll need to cut a hole or get some grips that are just sleeves and not closed on one end.
