Can anyone recommend a louder horn for a 2009 Honda Rebel CXM 250?

Wolo Bad Boy and Fiamm Highway Blasters (two horn set, High and Low) had some of the highest decibel ratings in an independent test I read about several years ago. I have a set of the Fiamm horns on my Rebel. If you get the Wolo's, use two if you really want to be heard.

You'll need to wire the aftermarket horns into a relay. The stock horn wires don't provide enough power to activate these aftermarket horns.

Thanks for the info. A couple of questions:

Whats the difference between the low and high versions?

Where is the horn relay? Do i need one for the Fiamm Highway Blasters? Could you send me link for the right horn relay if I need one?

I'm far from a horn expert, but my understanding is it takes both the high and low tone horns to get the best (loudest?) sound. It may be possible to buy a complete relay assembly, but most are made to fit the vehicle they go on. If you do an internet search for "how to make a relay", there are many explanations with pictures. All you really need is some heavy gauge wire (think I used 10 or 12 gauge) a relay (available at any auto parts store), and terminal ends to attach to the wires going to the relay, battery, horns, etc. My electrical skills are extremely limited, but I was able to wire up a relay for the horns on the Rebel. A relay is needed for just about any after market horns as the OEM horn wire isn't heavy enough to provide the power needed to operate the horns. The OEM horn wire is used to "trigger" the relay.

IIRC, it's a good idea to include an inline fuse in the relay assembly so things aren't damaged.

Found a diagram online and modified it some for a 96 and up Rebel.
The 7.5A is for a 6 amp horn load.
If the fuse blows quickly then you may need to bump it up to a 10 amp.

Thanks, that's a very good illustration. IIRC, I used a 10 amp fuse per member Buickguy's suggestion. Just route power to both horns when using two, and be sure both are grounded.

Anyone know the diameter of the stock 2001 Rebel horn?


I mean the metal horn itself, not the chrome ring.
Although it would help me to know both dimensions.
My Rebel is covered and put away for the PA winter.

I ended up installing just the low horn which did not require a relay or any other new wiring. As I dont plan on going on the highway i didnt need both horns.

This horn (even only the low one) is pretty badass!
