I got your text, but you didn't text me back!!! Turn your phone on. You can stay in my cabin if you want.

I keep telling everyone to reserve early! This year I reserved in January and the cabins were already filling up pretty quick.
According to the website at least 3 cabins are still available that weekend.

I have brakes for a 1986 - 450. I will bring if anyone is interested. Giving away to whom ever may need. If no one is interested I won't bring. Let me know!

ChicagoMatrix will be bringing one or more of his 450s. He may want them.

Is this your first Lake Hope Rally?

I am bringing a small swap meet worth of stuff for sale at swap meet prices with additional discounts and priority given if you are riding a 450! You can check out my 'store' in person at the top of the other hill. Come on Saturday and there will likely be some BBQ and a beer (and some bourbon too!) for you while you hang out and shop. ;)

For ideas of places to see, I really enjoyed the covered bridges, Maybe we can ride over one or two again? Always enjoy the 555.

Getting close, hope we get a big group this year!

If ANYONE wants to meet up for the ride on Saturday, we will meet at the Lake Hope Lodge at 9:00 AM. I have a "medium" length ride planned, over 150 miles. Some of the legs will go over an hour riding. I have a BBQ stop planned for the meal. The planned route is subject to change with weather...happened before...

Newcomers are welcome, and it doesn't matter what bike you ride!!! You won't be laughed at for not riding a Rebel. :ROFLMAO:

I'm arriving Friday. I'll be there. Not sure if I will take the Rebel. She did not like the long trip last time. When I would stop for gas she did not want to start until I allowed her to cool off a bit.

Scratch me. While I hate to miss this for the second year in a row, with the current surge in Covid-19, I just don't want to risk getting the disease. Life sucks at times.

Sorry to hear. We still plan on going, but, in our own camper with masks & maintaining proper distances.
It is wisdom to use extra caution, especially when lives are at stake.

Dang, I wish you could make it.

I too have been concerned with Covid since discovery. I don't plan on spending time indoors with folk, I practice social distancing, and wear a mask religiously so feel I can safely navigate.

Oh well, hope to see you next year my friend!

(PM me about that item and we can settle up)

I hate to miss it, and it would do wonders for my mental health, but I know too many folks that have either died (DIL's father and uncle, and our late U.S. Representative-elect among others) or been seriously sickened from this thing in spite of being vaccinated. And now they are saying the U.S. may never achieve "herd immunity".

The misinformation mill is very Powerful. Some of my surviving siblings still refuse to get the vaccine. True, it is their choice, & their right for self determination. But, when it can affect so many others, sometimes it bothers me.

For me the decision to get vaccinated as soon as possible was a "no brainer". However, for Fran her distrust of the new vaccine and the government's motives in pushing it were greater than her fear of the disease. She is now entering her second week of a Covid infection, and so far has not been terribly sick, just a cough, fever, etc. I think that I probably also have a mild infection, like a heavy cold, despite the vaccination. We're both at extreme risk for various reasons, so we're hoping that we'll not get any more sick. The good news, I guess, is that by Lake Hope we should be clear of any infection, if things go well. Don't let anybody second-guess the precautions that you feel are appropriate! Wear good masks if you want, even if nobody else is doing so, distance when you think necessary, stay home if your judgement is that's best. There are too many people that are just ready to throw caution to the wind, and we can't afford to let our guard down. Hopefully by next year the risks will be much less.

Having read some up-to-date info about the percentage of vaccinated folks that are contracting the disease, and how serious their symptoms may or may not become, I'm thinking I'll go. Hopefully, I won't be in the very small group that gets seriously ill. Will definitely be wearing a mask, and may get my meal "to go" and eat outside during the group ride. Not trying to be anti-social, just safe, and have some fun.

I plan to do the same.. Social distancing and mask is a constant for me & my family.
I unmask when riding though! 🆓

This year the cabins are rented out already for August in the dates that I wanted...so the rally will be held in the second weekend in September. Traditionally the rally was held in September but I moved it to August for more favorable weather. As always, the rally will be held rain or shine!!!

This rally is open to anyone! You DON'T need to ride a Rebel to attend! Some interesting bikes have showed up in the past rallies. Friday evening will be held around my campfire at cabin 43. We can decide which ride to take. Chili will be on the menu as always.

Saturday is the main ride, and I try to plan a different route every year. Lunch on Saturday will be on the road, hopefully at a nice dining establishment. These rides last for the whole day! Even though I make stops every hour or so, by the end of the day it can be tiring. Saturday evening my campfire ring will be crackling with flames and all are invited to join around it for chit chat and relaxation.

So far I have Lenny confirmed to attend, so there will be at least 2 bikes. :ROFLMAO:
motel rooms for the meet , can be had in Athens, we will escort you back each night after the campfires so you dont get lost !! motels Athens Ohio - Google Search
