2ng gen stator is physically larger than 1st gen will not fit inside 1st gen flywheel..
as I remember wire exits pulse trigger housing differently, 1st gen volt reg 6 wire 2nd gen volt reg 5 wire..
2nd gen CDI is different but can be adapted..
If it's only been hacked at the CDI, soldering the splices and shrink wrapping may be a viable option. But the question remains; why the CDI? Did a PO install a different CDI, and if so, why?
