How rare ia a honda rebel
unicorn rare.....

I wouldn't call them rare but uncommon. they were only made for 2 years and parts can be a little tricky to get but they're out there.
Said Rebel, might have meant Rebel 450 but didn't say it.

parts are not interchangeable between a 250 and a 450. cost should be low giving that fact that to bob is to remove parts that are not needed.

I did ask about the 450..is it costly to turn it into a bobber..an can i use parts from a 250
It is easy enough to bob anything. Its a shame to do it to a Rebel 450 in my opinion but easy enough to do.

For the most part, you cannot use Rebel parts on a Rebel 450.
Different bikes entirely from the frame on up.
What is interchangeable is the rear turn signals and stems, that's about it.
They have family resemblance but are very different cycles.

best advice I have for you is to build it like YOU like it. take a look at some the scoots here and see what trips your trigger. every ones idea and opinion of a "bobber" is different so your gonna get a 100 different answers to your question.

Yes, it could become costly due to the lost value of stock over bobber 450. But if you save all the parts and put it back to stock before selling you should be able to get good resale.
450's look cool as bobbers and if I ever get one I'll give it a shot but always be able to bring it back

Sadly about the only parts that swap between the 2 would be simple stuff like turn signals, handlebars and grips. I did half azz mount a 250 tank but it needed special brackets and some physical manipulation.

Since this thread started out as a spec for the CMX 450C. I was interested in what the torque spec is on this motor. It is never in any of the lists I have previously seen until now, as there is a Newton Meter spec in the one list which can be converted.

So the rated HP is 38

The Newton meter torque converted is rounded to 24 ft lbs.

Who knew... LOL!

If you mean kilo Newtons, we don't have that information on the registration documents. If you look at post #1 and 2, you may be able to convert horsepower to something you can use.

Does 25.5 kN seem right? Saw a converter site that showed 1 Horse Power is equal to .75 kN. I think.....
But as was stated, we don't use that measure in the US.
If any measure is used, it is cubic centimeters (CCs) thus the 250 Rebel would be 250 CC

Just for the record, I have installed one of those eBay over size gas tanks for the 250 on to my 450. all it takes is two small brackets on the front to set the tank back
1-1/4" so it will clear the dash (the dash is where the high beam and over drive indicator is) If you need a set of these gas tank brackets made PM (privet message) me and I can send you a set. The over size tank really looks great!

You need a work shop manual for all your servicing of rebel

who has a factory manual?

I thank you both for your replies. Which of you (if either) are referencing a factory manual, for valve specs? I obviously have no manual for the 450, at this time.

My manual is from Honda Motor Co.,LTD. then I also have a Clymer and both of them say
valve clearance:
IN: 0.08 - 0.12mm (0.003 - 0.005 in)
EX: 0.12 - 0.16mm (0.005 - 0.006 in)
That is all I have to go by is the very best repair manual I can find. I almost never use the Clymer but they are both in agreement on the 450 Rebel valve clearance.

Yes happens to me all the time. I was not trying to be argumentative, just wanted to get the correct information out there and I am the worlds worst for mixing up numbers.
