Got my rebel 125 '97

i'm proud to welcome her as my very first motorcycle. Be prepared to be bombarded with questions soon, because she needs some love now.

They look practically identical to the 250 variety. IIRC the 125 actually weighed slightly more than the 250 too. Did they use the same jugs & just bore them smaller? Here in the USA those were never available, so I've no way to check for myself. Although I can see some obvious differences.
I read that those could get up to 98kph/61mph, is that accurate?

That 98km/h could be right. But i'm not so sure about the weight. In theory, the only difference is the engine, and whatever comes with it.

Some info taken from a much earlier forum thread about the differences between the 125 and 250 engines internally:

125cc, Bore 44mm, stroke 41mm
250cc, Bore 53mm, stroke 53mm

The 250's cylinder head is physically bigger to allow for the bigger bores, but not a huge amount...

Rebel Dry Weights:

125cc, 137 kg / 302 lbs
250cc, 139 kg /306 lbs
