I've seen many people talking about mods for their bike and going down to in size to bobbers. I've only seen 1 post specifically about making it more agreeable for a serene relaxed ride.
I'm curious how many people have done the opposite and made them appear bigger and become much more comfortable and pleasant to ride. This is what I've done to my 85 Rebel. Of course I am an older rider that rides for the enjoyment of seeing the countryside. I try to always take different roads than I have before. (Not a bar hopper).
I enjoy it immensely as a nice comfortable easy long-distance Rider. 200 miles 2 up on a ride is the norm.
Is there an area in the forum for those that feel as I do?

Thank you. I couldn't find anything in my search.
I'm not done with mods yet. When finished & finally get it painted correctly I'll have to post more pics.
If you can title it so others searching can find, as well as move to the proper locale, that'd be fine with me. (Or were you asking me to just forgo this one & start another?)
I'm relatively new to these sites, so don't have a proper feel for it yet.

The 70753 White LED has 3 wires. Black(-), red Strobe, & white on. Just tap in to the wire at the horn, or in the junction box & connect it to the white wire. The picture on the etrailer website only shows the black & red wire though? Prostrobe did make a run of lights that only strobes, this could be a picture of that one.
I made a bracket that connects to the headlight bracket.
Pretty straightforward installation.
Hope that I answered your question.
This is how they look in their packaging.

Sorry, I should've commented on your 450. Very nice looking bike. Obviously cared for very well.
I really like the look & size of them.
My concern has always been that they were only made 1 or 2 years. And that parts will keep getting harder to find. If they had made them as long as the 250, I'd definitely own one now!

I forgot that I'd added that after the pic was taken. Sorry about that.

I had forgotten 1 more thing I have that makes the ride more comfortable. Drivers backrest.
This pic shows the rear cup holder, albeit just slightly shows behind the backrest.

Cool. But, be careful on the overall weight. I think the limit with passengers is 675 lbs. I normally ride with total weighing 730 lbs.
Watch the spokes carefully. I've broken some before. Don't ride with them that way.

Hello again, today I replaced the rear sprocket for 30t. Wow! What a difference in the sound of the engine. And smooth taller gears. Why was I afraid to do this sooner.
I also replaced the back brakes at the same time. Stops much better too!

Top speed is not excessively important to me. However, after putting the 30t on, I went on the highway. I have never ridden extremely fast, but I reached 80 easily & it was obvious the bike had more to give. Conditions may've been perfect for this, but the best part of the power seemed to be more in sync with the timing of my shifting. Seems to be empirical but 1 test proves nothing. Not that I'm ever planning on traveling that fast on such a small bike again.

5 days ago I finished replacing the 2nd sprocket on my Rebel. Then filled the 3.4 gallon tank. I've been driving more highway speeds than normal (70+mph). At 220 miles finally had to flip to reserve. I filled the tank & found that I got 80.6 mpg. This gear ratio IMO should be standard for these bikes. I can drive on the highway & if traffic is doing 80 mph, it'll do it too. AND get 80 mpg! Not too shabby!

With this configuration, & riding 2 up I can only get up to 70. But by myself 80 is reachable relatively easily. We both have an 85 Rebel, I find the 85 has more power than the 2nd gen. I find that mine rides much better with the 15:30 configuration. I also have never had to rebuild my carburetor. I do ride every month of the year in the Heat or in the cold.

Sorry that it took so long.
I finally took pictures of my Rebel with the LED headlight. One picture is with the low beams and the orange circle and the other is with the high beams and the white circle. Tire Wheel Sky Fuel tank Vehicle

I ordered these June 20, they arrived today July 16. They seem well built. I'll let everyone know how they work. Light Gas Electric blue Cable Wire
They have an additional switch between the kill, & start that I hadn't noticed in the original ad. I'll definitely put it to use for the hazzards & Fog lights!
I'll install the new master cylinder at the same time. And do some maintenance as well. Wood Automotive tire Flooring Automotive lighting Gas
Including new chain test of Niche 'X' style chain.

The 1st pic shows the blind nut that I used through the fender. That way nothing sticks down for the tire to catch. 2nd & 4th shows a piece of 1/4" steel bent into a hook for the front of the seat.

Thanks. I don't know if you noticed the red circle on the right handlebar. It's a bicycle bell. I use it in places like campgrounds. Nice to have a motorcycle so quiet. Very respectful especially in the evening when some are sleeping. The people walking 10 feet in front don't notice until I ring the bell. A group of 5 looked quite surprised to see the Rebel behind them!
I prefer to be seen but not heard. IMO, Loud pipes increase road rage.

Just installed RFY air shocks. They're rated 4.7 so I thought... my shocks are OLD & need replaced anyway, so I bought a set for $50.00 to try. So far nice & smooth. Haven't ridden 2 up yet, so we'll have to wait & see.
Quick easy installation. Only problem was that the bushings were 1/8" to long. It took about a half hour to install them. I took my time.
Hopefully no more bottoming out!

And yes, SoakedKarma the HID LED is quite bright after I finally got it adjusted correctly.
Previously I thought that they weren't very bright. But, adjusted correctly, they are Wonderful!

The shocks are great 2 up. No more bottoming out. I bid & won so I don't know how much others would pay.
