Vacuum Piston Diaphragm replacement procedures.

I’ve been struggling with replacing the diaphragm on a 2006 250, and even sent Jack’s Rebel Warehouse in FL a text, but haven’t heard back from him (yet)… I finally pulled the old rubber out of the plastic sleeves that hold it in place, and used some dish-soap to lube it so I could squeeze in...

I am still looking for a good replacement for the parts I need. I think I can get them from China but I would like to get something closer to home .

I looked for a while before I ordered from China. Others did have them but at close to 3x the cost and/or still overseas shipping. You can also find just the rubber part to try and fit to your old piston but again, same price or higher and I didn’t trust that I wouldn’t screw it up.

Somewhat off topic, but several years ago, when replacement diaphragms for the second generation 250s came out, they were about $40-50 each on ebay for just the diaphragm. There were none listed for the first generation bikes. Today a single second generation diaphragm, including the slide, is less than $9 and four for $18! Recently they have begun to list the first generation diaphragms for $50. Hoping price will drop with time.

Thanks for the information. I saw the same on eBay and will probably end up getting them. The thing I don’t understand is the difference in price on the same item but different sellers. I will be getting them for $16 each.
