I just finished welding the hardtail on and now mocking up the bike. The new rear end is significantly narrower than the old one, and when the rear wheel is on the frame, the sprocket hub is so wide I can’t get the wheel centered in the frame. Slammed all the way tight to the left side, it...

I am reassembling the top end on a 2008 250 Rebel. According to the manual, I should find TDC and align the cam sprocket marks with the top of the head, then attach one bolt through the sprocket to the cam shaft. Next: rotate the engine 360 deg, and install the second sprocket/cam shaft bolt...

Finally getting around to changing sprockets and chain. Anyone know how many links are needed with a 14 tooth front sprocket and 30 tooth rear?

i put a 15 tooth front sprocket on my 250, and the chain is dangerously close to the casing (about 2-3mm away). I'm afraid at high speeds the centrifugal force will force the chain even closer to the casing and eat it's way through it. Has anyone experienced this happening? I've got the stock...

I'm swapping both front and rear sprockets. I want to know the torque specs so that nothing goes wrong, since it used to be my bike, sold it to a great friend, but I still help with wrenching on the bike. I know the front sprocket is very delicate, like 8-10 lbs. but the rear? Thanks...

I track/document and post so this information is available to all Rebel Riders/Owners. Great or not so great, this is left up to...

Hello everyone, I went on a ride recently and I could not keep up with the other riders. I put a D404 150/90/15 on the rear, I had mentioned here before that I have the stock sprockets, but with the change in tire and my weight (240lbs) it seems i have lost a lot of top end speed. Please...

Hey all: I've really enjoyed reading through the forms. As a newbie and proud owner of a 2007 Rebel (used), this forum has already been immensely helpful. So on to the questions: 1. With the engine off, just wheeling up and down the alley behind my place, I can hear a click-click-clicking...
  10. New Member Introductions
Hi, I'm the proud new owner of an 02 Rebel cmx250. I've been hearing a lot about changing the rear socket to 30T. I'm interested in doing it but have no idea how. Could anybody help with instructions or help of any kind on how I can go about this? I could probably get the sprocket from the...
