    I'm way ahead of myself here but would like to ask: Has anyone removed the stock gas tank cap and/or welded a custom one on to the stock tank? and If I got a tank with dual gas caps, if it's vented, when filling do you have to remove both caps? This is what I'm looking at:

    Hi. I have a 1987 250 rebel and would like to upgrade to a newer fuel tank. Can I put on a 2005 tank with modifications? and if so what will i need to do? I called a local dealer and they just said the parts were different and not sure if it would work. Thanks D
