About the only shop I can think of that would be worth paying for custom work is the Arlen Ness A-Team on Boulder Highway across from Boulder Station.

But swapping the shocks is a simple task, all you need is a jack and four bolts to remove & replace.

My 450 is here, and I was wondering if you knew anyone local who could do any customizing on her. I found someone to do the seat and someone to paint the logo. But I'm still dying to put on 250 shocks and replace the rear fender. Of course, I still need to get acquainted with a more powerful ride...

Yes I was...it was a brief stay as I grew tired of the constant touting of VTXes on a Shadow board though. When I saw threads encouraging drinking and riding, that sealed it.

    Hey,

Didn't you used to be on the Shadow Riders Forum? Was looking at your pics and the Shadow chopper looks awfully familiar. I used to be on there - had a purple VLX with flames.

Hey I just posted in the southwest riders about a ride to red rock on Thursday if you want to ride

I rode my first bike today with ape hangers. One of my bosses friends just got a Bourget and it had ape hangers on it. I've always liked the way they looked on other peoples bikes. Now I at least understand them. I like the way they feel. I now have a new look when I see them.

The formula for fork length is a complex one, you pretty much need to be a math major to grasp it. Of which I am not. I may have a software calculator on my other computer...but all else being equal the basic formula is every extra two degrees of rake allows an extra inch of fork length...although even that has its limitations as once you hit a certain rake it explodes from there to the point where you can add extra feet.
  9. SWAMPRABBIT
If you want to can you add the formula to your chopping thread.

I know the sportster is a little heavier bike than the rebel. So that should mean the sportster springer should be at home on the rebel. How do I go about determining what length front end to use. I know it will run a bigger front tire. Have not desided to rake or not. Is there a formula to determine fork length? Thanks Shadow. Working on the old lady about my Christmas present. She already been asking.
