only runs on choke

I bought a project 99 Rebel for my wife. I m pretty sure this question has been asked but my bike only runs with choke on. I disassembled the carb, cleaned it and replaced the pilot jet. (just in case it was damaged) Reassembled it and it did not help. Any info would be much appreciated!

Here is a recent thread where some of our local carb experts weighed in on a similar issue:

2-5 day chem dip soak or ultrasonic cleaning is the only way to clean these carbs..
Chem dipped carbs need to be rotated and turned periodically to assure all air trapped in passages is displaced by cleaner..

adjust idle stop screw so the butterfly valve is open 1/64"-1//32" engine won't run with throttle valve fully closed..

if she won't idle likely your idle circuit is still clogged somewhere..
