Fuel tank replacement

Hi I have a 1986 Rebel 450 with a bad tank. I have purchased the oversized 250 tank (3.4 gal) I saw that someone sells the front adapter plates to retro fit this tank. Does anyone have a link to where I can get these plates?

Welcome! That guy who was selling the adapter plates doesn't seem to be active in the forum currently. Take a look at them, not too difficult to make DIY.

If the tank just has pin holes, it can be repaired with Caswell epoxy tank sealer.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Hey what do you mean take a look at them. Where can I find them. My tank on a recent 450 buy is totally rusted out and leaking. bought a 3.4 gallon 250 tank. How can I attach it.

do a search on your topic

take a look at the search results

it's a piece of metal with holes drilled in it - not a huge deal
