Headlight Issue

I installed an aftermarket LED H4 bulb a couple of months age. I don't ride in the dark much, but the other day I noticed the beam intensity would vary slightly while on low beam. It might do the same on high beam, just haven't checked it. As the light output changed, the high beam indicator light would glow slightly, flicker as the headlight flickered, and at times go out completely, only to begin glowing again the next time the lights would flicker. All this on low beam. On high beam, the indicator light is as bright as it should be, not just glowing.

Anyone have a clue as to what's going on? I sure don't!

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

High resistance or open circuit in headlight ground could cause low beam circuit to use high beam filament and indicator bulb as ground...

I'd check my headlight ground connections or it could be internal in bulb due to heat..

Think I'll just ride that way. The last time I opened the rat's nest of wires stuffed into that too small junction box and finally managed to get them all back in, I vowed never to open it again unless absolutely necessary.

I avoid the junction box as well..
Dimming indicates heavy power draw,, could overtax the charging system..
Keep an eye on it, as you are unlikely to see the dimming and bright indicator in daylight

The battery doesn't seem to be affected. Starts right up, every time. But then I ride almost every day.

It's getting noticeably worse, with the dimming getting to the point that output is significantly reduced. Going to replace the bulb and see what happens.

Think it's fixed. Opened the bucket to replace the bulb and discovered the bulb/wire harness connection was loose. Secured it with zip ties, and we'll see if that helps.
