The Rebel has a fairly straightforward electrical system, but I have no experience with it. A replacement harness seems like a good idea. OTOH, I have completely rewired a couple of older bikes without using a single piece of the original harness. I even completely rewired a 1963 Chevy when a short destroyed the entire wiring harness. I did not try to duplicate the original harness, but wired everything separately. Electrical (12V) is easy. It's electronics where the problems arise, and aside from the CDI ignition, the Rebel does not have any of those. And the CDI is a self contained unit. But if electrical is not your thing, yeah, I'd look for a complete harness.
