Unhappy Bent Rear Brake Pedal at Frame attachment area

Hey Everyone,

I've been using this forum since my I got my rebel, recently I got into an accident that resulted in a bent rear brake pedal. The entire rear pedal assembly is fine, but where the bolt attaches at the frame has bent. I've attached several photos, as they better explain my situation. I was thinking of bending it back but, I don't know if it's going to end up breaking it. Let me know what you guys think could fix this. Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,

Yes just try to bend it back, nothing to lose. I bent my shift lever when I hit a deer, bent it back, still going strong.

Yup, that's bent all right. You're going to need a good lever to bend that back. I suggest removing the brake pedal and shaft, getting a pinch bar that will fit in the shaft hole and pulling it back into position. If it breaks you needed to have it welded anyways.

Thanks guys, the split bar sounds like a good idea. I'm gonna try that tommorow to see if it works. If it breaks, then welding it is. Much appreciated!

01-7700, thanks for the suggestion! I ended up using a crow bar that fit in the hole and bent it back. Everything's all fixed up now, can finally get back to riding. Thanks again!
