Guys,

A quick update. While assembling parts and tools to attack it again this weekend, yesterday my kid took the bike to Honda. Fixed.

The technician said that we had done everything correct but the alignment. He indicated by his hands that it was rotated -approx 30 degrees.

So there you have it.

Thanks again for all your thoughts. Ever heard of that?

Stan

Ps. Got the spring back in during half time of the Tostitos Bowl. Can you believe Stanford?? I could kick a field goal that far...

motorcycle oils have different properties than conventional motor oil, because the motor and clutch are using the same oil

no, only the auto oils marked energy conserving are not suitable for motos, otherwise they're pretty much the same

I’m pretty sure I have the same problem... do you know how they “realigned” it?

I can only assume that the alignment tabs (see diagram) were not aligned with each other and the housing they fit into.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!
