A lot of the riders on my Yamaha XJ forum run Rotella and really like it. I have thought about using it but have stayed with synthetic. Every 1000 miles should keep it clean! Where did you get the Fumote valve to fit your Rebel? Looks like a great idea.

Is the handle up or down when installed in the Rebel?

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

I believe up.
Valve could be positioned in easily.

The pic is very helpful, and appears to be this one, correct? https://www.amazon.com/Fumoto-B109SX...gateway&sr=8-3

I was thinking it was the one with the plastic handle since it popped up first when searching with the provided description. https://www.amazon.com/DEF-F-106N-En...-7-spons&psc=1

Correct. That is the same valve I used. No plastic handle.

In post 12 I included the valve I used.
Hope this helps.
