Hello all, I started my bike this morning, outside temp was 32F and I noticed that the sound it was a little bit different but it started very fast without any other problems, only I noticed a lag while I was trying to increasing the rpm’s but I thought because the cold.

After a couple of minutes I tried to get my bike off my garage Ramp which is uphill and the bike was dying..

Anyhow I understood that i was running with only right cylinder..

I got the left spark plug cable out and nothing was happened.. engine was running with the right cylinder only with strange sound and rpms not increasing correctly..

I was taking out and in the spark plug cap from spark plugs and finally while I was putting the cap close to the spark plug but not firmly then I had finally ignition and engine start sound ok and idle rpm increased.

I did my ride without any problem...

What I should check?

Thank you

May be time for new spark plugs, caps, or possibly CDI. The Rebel comes with two CDIs, so you can swap them from one side to the other. If the problem follows the swap, one of them isn't working properly.

Glad it's working properly now. Those spark plugs are about the foulest I've seen! If you can't find the cause for them being fouled, the new plugs will probably also foul.

I don’t know the cause.. the symptoms that I had lately was..

High fuel consumption, no idle without enricher, back fires some time while I was slowing down rapidly and my buddy told me while he was riding back from me that my exhaust was smelling gas,oil..

While I was cleaning the carburetor I noticed the air valve was open more than 6 turns

I cleaned the carburetor, replaced the spark plugs, adjust the air valve 2 1/2 turns and on my test ride all were good.
I need to check consumption now on the next fill up.

It's possible if the engine was running extremely rich, the plugs could be fouled by unburnt fuel. Compression test will help identify certain problems.
