Well that scares me even more, because I tried that method and the engine just spins backwards, but the back wheel doesn't move. So apparently we have a slipping clutch too..... NEVER buy an "old man owned" bike, it's just short for "Old man owned, so therefore no maintenence was done." Or at least in my case anyways. I'm sure there's a lot of older folks on here who take meticulous care of their bikes. This guy just wasn't one of them.

How would I use a flywheel holder on it? I don't see where I could mount it at.

The one in my Honda manual appears to be a (metal?) strap with a bolt in the middle that has a "foot" that goes against the flywheel. As the bolt is turned, it pushes against the strap, holding the flywheel in place. The part number is 07725-0040000.

I couldn't find a picture of it, but here's one of a universal holder: https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda/07725-0030000

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Oh yeah, I see that now. I saw a few similar to that on Amazon. I doubt any local parts stores will have that though, the guys at Autozone looked at me like I was nuts when I described it to them earlier. I'll show them a picture tomorrow though, and we'll see how it goes.

I looked up those part numbers, and the only one that showed up was $231. I think I'm going to go with this one I found on Amazon, only $26 and I'll have it in two days. Even if it breaks after the first use, well, hopefully I won't need it again.

Nice find. Looks like it should work. Yeah, I saw the price on the Honda part and once again confirmed some things are waaaaaaay over priced for what it costs to build them.

That's what I thought too, if someone can make a nearly identical part for $26, then Honda must be charging a ridiculous markup.

I just orderd that one off Amazon, should be here Sunday. It seems like it should work, at least for the one time I'll likely ever need it. Even if it breaks, Amazon will most likely accept a return. I'll post again when it arrives and I try it out.
