Carb

Hey guys, so one day I noticed I had a small fuel leak coming from the carb. I was really low on fuel and oil. I fueled up and did a oil change and cleaned the carb off a bit with a toothbrush and that seems to have stopped it. Was it just because I was low on fuel or something?

if it's dripping out of overflow tube the float was likely stuck..
tapping float bowl with screwdriver handle is often the fix, so yes fumbling around carb could unstick a stuck float..
Or was the carb body wet? seepage around bowl seal or from fuel hose would cause that.

When I get back on it I’ll send a pic of it, it’s still pretty dirty though. And I’ll circle where it was leaking from too.

The two circled spots is where I’ve seen fluid leaking.

looks to be time to install a new bowl seal gasket...

you might try tightening bowl screws, use of philips head screw driver will cam out screw head damaging it if not careful.. many replace screws with hex/allen head screws...

JIS (japanese industry standard) screwdrivers/bits are designed to fit JIS screw heads on the Rebel.. much less likely to cam out screw head, but we work with what we have handy..

Are you talking about the bottom one circled? Like replacing that part?

no I am talking about the 4 carburetor Bowl screws.. circled red, air fuel screw is in green..

the lower hose connection is crankcase vent, plugs into oil separator.. attached to separator is Air box and Puke/drain tube.. I would assume the wetness is gas dripping from carb onto vent hose..
Have you ever unplugged the puke tube and drained it?

Is gas "only" dripping off air fuel adjustment screw? there is an 0-ring that seals the adjustment screw.. comes with bowl gasket kit..

discoloring or wetness around bowl seal indicates bowl seal seeping...
there is no reason low fuel would cause any seeping/leaking...
