It looks like you pulled the tank vent hose out from the bundle of tubes that end under the bike. I'm not sure what it tees into as I just disconnect it at the tank.

What's missing, IMO, is an inline fuel filter.

one diagram shows it going back to behind the breather .. it runs fine through the spectrum .. i have put about 20 miles on it just running up and down my dead end road .. had to get my balance back .. an inline filter is on my list ..

Hose from under the tank with a T don't know where I have to connect it

I was 7 months out of town and my friend was keeping it and riding it so didn't get bad the battery but one day stopped running while in the road and she couldn't run it again, when I came back I found this hose out and I cannot run it yet.

On end of that hose connects to a nipple on the underside of the gas tank. It is a vent tube that allows air into the tank as fuel is used so that a vacuum doesn't develop and starve the engine of fuel.. It has nothing to do with your engine not running properly.

When I changed my 96 to dual carbs the bike ended up sitting for a few months before finishing and dummy me forgot where all the little hoses went I just ran the vent from the tank down along with the vent hoses from the carbs with no problems

Welcome to the forum!

IIRC, the T serves as a vent to ensure the hose doesn't act as a siphon. Just route it with the bundle of hoses behind the right side of the engine.

In order to prevent a siphoning action, an air vent in a line must be located above the liquid level in the tank, so this Tee would not work for that purpose, but its still fine to just route it toward the ground with all the other hoses.

There has been speculation that it is related to the extra plumbing on the California bikes, but just left on the regular bikes. I don't think anyone knows for sure. Some bikes have it and some don't.

Regardless the T is in the fuel tank vent line, and connects to nothing. The line just joins the other hoses and the puke tube that are bundled together, and hang below the bike frame.

I know this is a very old post but I was just gifted a 2012 rebel. There are three fuel lines sticking out the side. I can't find where they connect. When I open the fuel to ON position. The ones that come off the bottom of the carb from a y fitting to a T fitting leak fuel. The other has a plastic small T on it but I'm guessing that's the tank vent.

the hose with T Only is tank vent
Hose with Y and T is bowl vent, bowl drain, & bowl overflow.. fuel is pouring out because float valve is stuck open, gas is draining out bowl overflow
Whack the side of carb with screwdriver handle, it often dislodges stuck float valve

Welcome. All the vent/overflow tubes wind up in a bundle within a wire loop behind the right rear side of the engine. The large tube with a plug in it should be drained periodically, and the contents can be recycled with used oil.
