1982 CM250 carb question.

So I working on restoring an 82 CM250. And in that process, got the carb full of tank liner. Learning lessons the hard way.
Anyhow I’m having a hard time finding a replacement Keihin VB 15A online and local shops/junkyards.
My question is, is there another carb that anyone on here has used with success? Or am I doomed to scour the web and try not to pay 1/3rd as much as I paid for the bike in the first place for a carb?

depends on sealer.. I'd look into a epoxy remover if you used Caswell sealer..
Por-15? never used it, as it's hardly thicker than a coat of paint when cured..
Do not probe idle jet with wire or pin.. it has micro-screen about half way up inside that would be destroyed..

don't know of any replacements..
Same problem with 85-87 CMX250. The 2nd generation intake and carb combined are a bolt on replacement..
don't know whether the 96-2016 intake would fit on CM250 head..

If not, you can try soaking the carb (I'd only do the metal parts) in paint stripper. Let it soak eight hours or more, and it should soften Kreem, RedKote or POR-15. Won't work on epoxy. Follow the instructions on the paint stripper for how to remove it (water, wipe off, etc.). I have no idea if the paint stripper, which is very viscous, will get into all the orifices. But then the above sealers may not have gone there either. Is your petcock gummed up too?

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!
