Looking for carburetor for CMX 250 from 2003

Hi All,

my carburetor is just about shot. The bike had old gas sitting in it for over 8 years. All the brass is corroded and even with a rebuild kit, I have my doubts. If you have one to sell or can hint towards a fitting aftermarket carburetor, I would be very thankful!

Welcome to the forum. An ultrasonic cleaner will clean that carb, and be cheaper than a used one (which may also need cleaning). If it were clean, could you put new gaskets and O-rings in it?

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Thank you for the suggestion! I watched some very impressive youtube videos. I would have to buy an ultrasonic cleaner or find someone who has one, but it sure seems like it gets impressive results. I already have a rebuild kit with all the gaskets and O-rings.

Thank you - I checked ebay for a while and just did not see a carb that would fit the bike. There are plenty of carbs that LOOK a lot like it, but the Honda cmx 250 is not listed as a fitting model.

As for the thread - thank you very much for linking it. It was a little bit over my head though to be honest
I am not that savvy yet!

any carb from 1996 to 2016 would fit a 2003 Rebel - if you decide to go that way

i would try to clean the one you have first - it's easier than it seems to be
