It could be a clogged tank vent causing it to vapor lock. try opening the gas cap next time it dies and see if you can hear pressure escaping and if it will start right back up. If so check the tank vent that connects in the tunnel of the tank and runs along the backbone of the frame.

If the bike sat outside for a time, it could be a plugged tank vent hose. Some species of bee's and wasps will build nests in tiny holes such as the end of vent hose.

Number 5 is the vent hose, it connects to a nipple in the tunnel of the tank.

I don't have a picture, but the tank vent hose is one of the hoses which hang below the frame under the engine. You will have to take the tank off to reach the hose. Then you can blow air through it and see if it's plugged.

Have you tried shutting off the petcock and disconnecting the fuel line from the carb, then turning on the petcock to see how the fuel flow is?

Did you drain out all the old gas?

Have you installed an inline fuel filter? http://www.hondarebelforum.com/f39/h...ter-13278.html

Is there any rust in the tank? http://www.hondarebelforum.com/f39/t...ning-7168.html

Sounds like something is in or getting in the carb and interfering with fuel flow/delivery.

You can try turning the petcock to off, removing the carb drain screw, and then spraying carb cleaner through the drain hole to possibly blow out any junk in the carb. If you are lucky, that may solve the problem. Be aware that gas will come out the carb drain hose. Have something there to catch it. The carb drain hose is with the cluster of hoses on the right side of the bike just behind the engine.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!
