Nice. I wish someone would make all the parts necessary to convert the second generation Rebel 250 so it could use the chrome left side cover and the chrome battery box on the right. I would be willing to pay a significant amount of money for something like that.

I've busted the plastic ones off twice. Some metal replacements would be welcome. If I got measurements, would that help?

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Yes, that would help and some pics as well.

I think there are a couple of tabs welded to the frame that may be missing on the 2nd gens and the airbox may also be different.

What if I just sent you my broken side covers? They are complete except for the part the retaining bolt goes through.

If you are going to make them for the 2nd generation, consider the shipping my contribution to the cause. Is the one pictured metal with a vinyl cover? If so, what kind of metal? I might get some without the vinyl and paint them to match.

The cover is cast in resin similar to abs in strength and plasticity. They are paintable.

I may have to buy a 2nd gen to fool around with.

If you could make them so they don't stick out so far, that would be great. I keep kicking the OEM side covers getting on and off the bike, which is how they get broken.
