Question Rebel '01 engine cut off at low throttle

Dear friends, I have one trouble with my bike and can't resolve it by myself. Please give me some advice.

After 3 years without driving, I have a problem: the engine starts well, but with a small throttle, the motor cut out. With a greater throttle, the motor runs properly.
The old fuel was drained from the tank and carburetor.
I've got video with it https://instagram.com/p/Bwe3TB1Fh7_/

Thank you!

Welcome to the forum. Are you using the fuel enrichment lever when starting the engine? Does the engine still cut out once it is warmed up?

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

It sounds as if the carburetor may be dirty/clogged even though the fuel was drained from it before being stored. Is it possible that rust has formed in the tank? Have you installed an inline fuel filter? They help ensure any contaminants in the tank don't reach the carburetor.

There are many passages in the carburetor that can become clogged and cause problems. From your description of the problem, the accelerator pump, which is assembly number 8 in this diagram, may not be working properly. https://www.cheapcycleparts.com/oemp...31c/carburetor

Some sort of carburetor cleaning solvent may be needed to clean the internal passages. Soaking the metal parts (some solvents will destroy plastic and rubber) for two days or longer may be necessary. If you have access to an ultrasonic cleaner, they do a very good job of cleaning dirty carbs quickly. Vinegar is a good liquid to use in an ultrasonic cleaner. I would treat the entire carburetor rather than just the accelerator pump assembly.

sounds like accelerator pump isn't working properly..
causing lean condition leading to engine dying on light acceleration..
I'd check accelerator pump linkage is adjusted and check ball is working
Rebuilding same type pump as on Rebel pdf link
