I finally got my 2015 Shadow seat mounted.
I tried making an adapter out of rebar, but did not like it.
So I bought a stock Rebel seat and used the pan from it.

Short story is I epoxied the Rebel pan to the Shadow seat pan. Then added a few screws to really secure them together.
I cut the rear seat strap off the extra Rebel seat bracket. Upon trial fitting I discovered I needed to cut the metal where the strap attached. I needed to gain clearance so the new seat rubber stoppers would fully rest on the frame.
I would prefer that the front did not rise 2" above the tank, but I will get over it. That compromise is well worth the comfort of the Shadow seat. I did make a vinyl covered plastic plate to fill the front hole between the seat and tank.
One of the photos shows the plate. I have not secured it yet. Probably use a pair of stainless screws going into the seat pan. Other choice is epoxy it to the seat pan.

I might be able to raise the rear of the tank an inch and a half or so. I have rubber spacers. But that would require cutting the upper "cover" for the tongue/ rear tank bolt. Don't think I really want to do that.

I did cut the plastic tongue off the Shadow seat pan. I did that to make my filler plate fit better.

Seat feels great to sit on. It is too cold today to test ride so I will need to wait for that.

I have new rubbers for under the seat on order. Installing them and cleaning up/painting the seat mount will finish the seat project.

Think I want to install my new LED tail light assembly next.

At the same time I will mount the rear fender luggage rack.

I bought a small trickle charge solar panel that I hope fits between the rack and fender.

If it fits the way I hope, you won't even realize it is there unless you are looking for it.

Pix of the Rebel side cover emblem. Not my best work, but they are ok.
My plan is to convert the bird part to 2 color and make a T shirt and stickers.

Not sure if I will have any success though.

Garage
Maybe get a small tank bag to cover the gap between seat and tank?

I have been looking into them. Maybe I will find one at Yankee lake in a couple weeks.

I found a small "tank bag"

Actually it is a handcuff case. 4"tall x 3" wide tapering down to 2 1/2" wide x probably 1 1/2 thick.

Now will I find a strap for it or just industrial strength velcro?

Strap might allow it to move around a little and wear the paint.
