In Ohio I get about 180 miles before I switch to reserve. In the spring or fall I would only get around 150 miles before switching to reserve. It depends on the season and how many additives are added to the gasoline in your state. If I ride up to Michigan, which has more additives in the gas compared to Ohio, my mileage drops about 20 miles per tank. If you keep your gas receipts, you can mark the mileage of your fill up on the receipt with your key. When you get home and have time, you can do the math to figure your normal cruising range. If you do this for spring, summer, fall, you can get a good idea of how far you can go when you finally do go to reserve. Reserve is .7 gallons, if you know your gas mileage, there is no panic when needing to get to a gas station.

If reserve happens at 1.9 gallons (2.6-.7) then you are getting 94 mpg, over the 180 miles?

My last tank was 176.2 miles and I still wasn't on reserve. Receipt dated 08/04/2019...I always keep my gas receipts, helps me to keep trending. Stock Rebel sprockets.

That's a really big tank, unless there's a decimal point out of place.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

So your lower number is about 74 mpg. I've achieved that here in New York.

Ohio gas must be good stuff. Dang ethanol.

You aren't driving without the brakes and keeping the mph below 30?

I live 18 miles East of Ithaca, NY. There are a number of stations and one small engine/outdoor equipment shop that sells non ethanol/pure gas in this area. I buy from a Mirabito station that is on my route into town. I keep a couple of gals stored in the garage that I fill from if I'm running low and I'm not going to be near one of the stations. 90 octane non ethanol is currently selling for $3.55 a gallon. I've never run anything but pure gas through my engine. I'm getting right around 60 -62 mpg. I located pure gas in my area using this link: www.pure-gas.org There is also a free "pure gas" android app for phones via Google Play.

Thanks for the pure-gas site. I've checked it out previously and now too, and there is no pure gas listed for the NYC area. My mileage is 62mpg, not good for me, usually up around 70mpg.

Maybe the boroughs and the city itself have banned non ethanol for environmental/energy reasons? I know some states have. I don't really keep an accurate track of mileage anymore myself. But if I remember correctly, I think ShadowShack posted something not long ago stating that when Honda brought back the Rebel (2nd generation) they had to contend with fuel/mileage competition with the other Asian bike brands. Consequently, 2nd generation Rebels get better mileage than first generation. ???? NY's fuel tax is high, but surprisingly, NY is only the fourth highest fuel tax state. Pennsylvania, California, Washington, and Hawaii are the leaders.
