Lake Hope Rally 16-18 Aug 2019 Pictures

This year when I arrived I was elated to find so much help unloading my truck! Many thanks guys for your efforts! Fire wood unloaded at record time. Rebel unloaded next. I showed up later than I wanted thanks to road construction, slow truckers and a guy who had to do 12 MPH in a 25 zone through his town so he could wave at everyone he saw. I didn't expect all the help, so I'm very thankful to all those who participated! In this short span I got to meet Steve from Indiana.

As I planned on arriving around lunch time on Friday, that didn't happen. So when I arrived, late around 1:30- 2:30 PM I think, I was hungry. But the group wanted to go on a short ride and have supper at DNC's cabin. Okay, went with the plan. Unfortunately, the plan didn't follow the plan! We were to visit a covered bridge and head to a grocery store. Took a little while to find the bridge and the grocery was in Wellston. Flite got impatient at the bridge and took off on his own. Patience, patience, Flite...

What was neat about the covered bridge was what DNC found. A rock with a message from a nursing home. I hope he puts it somewhere where someone will carry it farther.

I did get a picture of Flite control going through the bridge breaking the sound barrier. You can see the air above and behind him compressing and condensing to validate the speed...

I tried to carry my camera everywhere we went, but I lacked in that respect. Even when I had my camera I didn't get nearly the photo's I wanted. Seems when we stop somewhere, everyone separate and does their own posts. Not only from this year, but last year as well. So here's some pictures of the ride on Saturday.

Apparently It's easier to get a picture of just bikes than it's the owners. But here's a picture of the seven bikes at The Battle of Buffington Island.

Bob the 250.com ambassador was still liking it.

We ran through the southern part of the triple nickle, a first time for me. It was all and more than I hoped for! After riding the the north half I didn't think the twisties and rollers could get any better. A couple of things that set it apart from the north half of 555, was the gas station, the only one on 555, and Triple Nickle Diner.

Triple Nickle Diner is a top rate place to visit! I definitely will go back again!

For the first time in this rally, we had someone go down...hard! People it's hard to hear when someone gets life flighted out! At this point I hear he was released from the hospital, which makes me feel hopeful he will be back next year. Please, please, please! Have experience taking tight turns before you come to this rally.

My thanks go out to Mark and Fran for the sumptuous feast of a pizza diner they provided on Sunday evening. I hope they don't hold it against me that I couldn't eat more...

Didn't realize I was going that fast since the throttle was barely open. No wonder I was crowding the slow guy in front of me so often.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

It's been modified here and there. The picture proves how fast it is.
