All told, we rode 163 miles that day. It was one of the shorter rides I had planned. Wasn't planning to go south on 124 again, but Wilson suggested it. I didn't mind, but my butt started to.
That ride was by far the longest that I've ridden, maybe twice as far, and the roads demanded attention, but I wouldn't have missed a mile of it, except for maybe the last 12 miles or so from Nelsonville back to the Park. Glad I fitted an improved seat and a windshield the week before! The Rebels did well!

You did very well for having little experience! As you can probably attest now, the riding is very challenging, both physically and mentally. That's why I like to plan stops that have some type of attraction to see. Good to walk out any muscle fatigue.

Fridg, please do attend! I think you'll find it worth while. Very laid back, I don't know what I enjoy more, the riding or socializing.

Thanks, Guba,

Yes, the rest stops were great to unwind, and stretch our legs, as well as photo-opps. I still found myself getting tired towards the end, and that made me feel that I needed to slow down (even more) so as not to make more mistakes. Anyway, I survived, learned a lot, and know I'd love to do it again.

As you say, the company and evenings were as pleasant as the rides. What a great bunch of friends to hang out and ride with! Wish this forum provided a "Like" or "Agree" button, that I could just click for all the posts!

Thanks, Nard, I did that to your reply, but don't see anything showing my Like. And now I need a "Got it" button, please.

If you aren't riding up there, I might be able to get two Rebels on my small trailer. But if you have the time and want to, there's a ton of great roads on the way, many in Tennessee.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Just spoke with Steve. He's not on this forum yet, but probably will be soon. He's still sore, but improving. He hopes to be able to participate in next year's ride.

Awesome! I was wondering how he's holding out. Also sounds like he's not throwing in the towel on riding.

Think his family isn't wild about the idea, but he wants to continue.
