Looking to remove passenger seat on my 250. Any parts that will cover the wire?

I'd like to accomplish 2 things: 1) remove the rear seat and 2) install a luggage rack. However, I've seen that when you remove the rear seat, a wire is exposed. Is there some sort of cover or part that will hide this wire, so that when I install the luggage rack, it's not still visible?

The wire that is exposed:

Welcome. You could take the pan from the bottom of an old seat and paint it to match, put upholstery over it, etc. That's probably the cheapest way top do it. You might find someone here willing to sell a seat, or on ebay.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

When I put my luggage rack on (custom made) The wires weren't that noticeable. I did remove the leather hand hold from the pillion seat though.

MC.com ruined this forum

bye, bye

Right now, I'm listing my '06 Rebel on CL

https://lincoln.craigslist.org/mcy/d...898217200.html

If you scroll through the photos, you will see the chrome rack in place of where the pillion was. I had to move the stop/tail light under the fender and the license plate to a side mount.

I hope this helps.

Sorry, CL keeps removing listings. Not sure why.

Usually it's the CL readers that flag listings for removal. I do it all the time in my area for vehicles that are clearly scams. Those with professional looking photos of beautiful vehicles in foreign looking locations or too low a price. Example, late model BMW sitting under some palm trees selling for $2000. We don't have any palm trees in Maine that I'm aware of.

Maybe your price is too low or your bike is too good looking

And I do it for the @#*& dealers that post their bikes under the By Owner Only section! There was a Bozo scammer with ridiculous prices on various models of motorcycles. His posts were obvious if you read the entire add. He listed every bike as a 2007 Kawasaki over in the details boxes, even if the add was for a HD.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Thank you!
I think there is someone in the local area, perhaps selling a bike of his own, that doesn't like me listing my bikes.
I have had a lot of trouble having CL listings being removed for my 2008 F800ST as well. I did some research about it. I may have to have a new email address and new CL account.

Once you list an ad, supposedly you should open that ad in a window 20-30 times. The logarithm looks at the ratio of opened (accessed) listings vs.flagged. That is, if you just list it and it gets flagged it will be removed, but if you list it, open it in a bunch of windows, CL servers don't differentiate between ISPs, so you listing, then opening your own ad looks like 20-30 people opened it, had no problem with it and then, if flagged, the flag may be ignored. However, that's not working for me.😠

I've had to shorten it down, a lot. I tend to be detailed. My asking price was not too low. Eventually, I had to strip the ad down to almost nothing to get it to stay up. Even fewer pictures than normal.
