Hi everyone,

My left side (battery cover? Does anyone know the technical part name? The plastic cover on either side and just below the seat) cover broke where it bolts onto the frame. That little circular piece the bolt goes through snapped--not sure how. My bike is blue. Does anyone know if the dealership sells these or anywhere else to get a replacement? I only found one on ebay and its pricey.

I'm thinking this forum needs to change names to: flitecontrolshondarebelforum.com

Is there anything about the Rebel that you don't know or aren't good at?

He died a few months back, but my nominee for renaming the forum would have been Duckster. He contributed a lot of really good information during the time he was here, and was knowledgeable about everything from how to ride to working on a bike. This forum was active long before I happened onto it, and I hope it's going strong when I'm gone. The good folks here taught me what I've learned about motorcycles.

I haven't been past the clutch on any motorcycle, so I don't know much about the internal stuff, and electrical issues are very difficult for me to get my head around. That's why I defer to Buickguy, 01-7700, Shadow Shack, Soaked Karma, and many others who are far more knowledgeable to address those problems.

I joined the forum when the news about his passing was shared. actually, the first ever topic I read here was about his passing. browsing through forum's older posts you could see that he did have tremendous knowledge and probably influenced other people to reply and help others in as much details as flite and others are posting now. what I really like about his posts is the level of details and care to explain how to go about issues. You could see that he was a patient and kind fellow. RIP Duckster

I heard and read about Duckster. I also have done a bunch of searches for info and found lots of good info from Duckster. RIP. I never knew him but I'm gonna miss him.
