New from Idaho

Hello everyone! I’ve had a 2008 rebel 250 for a couple of years. It’s completely stock, but I’m looking to change it. I’ve got no experience fabricating so I was going to try a blue collar bobber kit for the seat, lights, handle bar, and covers.

I found a look I want to shoot for, but am having trouble finding an exhaust like the one in the photo. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Oh, I also need a new tank. I bought the bike from a guy with 1300 miles on it. He dropped it once and wanted nothing to do with motorcycles anymore. It dented the tank and the clutch lever a bit.

They have a bunch of these on amazon, are they any good if I have them powder coated? Or should I get one from the dealer?

Welcome! Not sure where to send you for that exhaust but it looks fairly easy to find. Google slash cut straight pipe. Measure the existing exhaust diameter at the point where you are going to cut and buy a pipe that will match up to that.

The aftermarket tanks are widely used. Some people have experienced leaks due to poor quality. They are easily sealed when new. I had one on one of my bikes for years and it never leaked. Great thing about Amazon is you can send it back if it leaks.

Welcome to the forum.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Make sure the mufflers are supported by more than the studs at the exhaust header. If not, it will probably snap them off eventually.
