Ok and I am the OP and here to say the deal fell through on the 09 Rebel that I reported buying....

So what to do? I didn't want to stay bikeless and now I am not...Yesterday I bought a very pristine 2003 Honda Shadow VT750DC, chain drive and it now resides here at my house..Black. About 540 lbs wet, so it is not overly heavy, though more than 200 lbs more than the Rebel ...it has a tombstone windshield, Vance and Hines pipes (would prefer OEMs...who wants to trade after the riding season?).
Low seat - about 26 inches...Chrome is perfect....Paint likewise.....

Looking forward to riding it.

What happened with the Rebel?

FWIW the Gen-1 750 Spirit (07 and earlier) has the same wheel as the VLX 600 Shadow but uses a slightly smaller rear tire (160/80x15). Visually it "looks" wider than the usual 170/80x15 that most Shadows come with, it's a nifty optical illusion.

Those are STEPS toward customizing, not customizing unto itself.

"Shad man" I had put a small deposit down on the Rebel. I had not brought it home..the seller was awaiting the title to come back from the state....He had just bought it...Anyway, he never called and so I decided to look elsewhere and forfeited the few dollars .

Thanks for input about the back wheel...I am not "up" on such stats. Fun to know such things....tu

I have started going to the gym to do mild weight work as well as treadmill walking. I plan to get stronger to better handle a bike of this weight....540 lbs wet plus a large windshield. I worked out for a half hour yesterday and it felt great to use those muscles again..

Today I'll go and get the title put into my name and get insurance on it, etc...

You can live to be as old as I. Just live clean and don't die. (The photo of me on a bike in my avatar is me on my 80th birthday in 2016.)
