Hey everyone, just checking in with a quick intro. I have several bikes including my wife’s 1996 Rebel CMX250. The Rebel is super clean with about 8500 miles on it, but I committed the major mistake of not taking care of the fuel while the bike sat for several months. So I registered on the forum to get some help with the carb, hoses & vacuum lines. I am also interested in learning about mods & maintenance for the Rebel. Looking forward to learning & sharing.

Welcome. If not cracked, the fuel hose should be ok. There are threads and tutorials in the Wrenching section of the forum that deal with carb disassembly and cleaning, as what you describe is a common problem. Suggest you drain the old gas and check for traces of rust. Clean as needed. Also, install an inline fuel filter when the carb and tank are clean to keep any crud from getting to the clean carb. Again, threads on all of this are in the Wrenching section. If you have an issue you can't find an answer to, try a tag search, and if no luck, ask. Folks here are very willing to share their knowledge.

Welcome. I suggest using non-ethanol gas in my bike, and for that matter, in all vehicles, including lawn mowers. Also second the motion to clean carbs.
