First bike in 30 years: 2005 Rebel

I have been converting a 2018 Promaster into a camper for a few months and had planned to buy a scooter for the back to enable us to get around small towns we camp near. I switched to a small motorcycle when researching scooters and found that the Honda Rebel was well under the hitch weight. (Max 400lbs.)

My prior experience was with dirt bikes and a Honda CB360 which I rode when I lived in FL (Safely gear was limited to shorts, T-Shirt and a baseball cap.)

I have my MSF course scheduled for later in the month, however, I wanted to make sure that I could still ride after, literally thirty years and was pleasently surprised to find its just like ruding a bike, I had not lost my sense of balance or ability to shift and brake smoothly.

I have ridden about three hours now and I must say the Rebel is a dream to ride for someone rusty such as myself. I cannot express how pleased I decided to move up froma 150cc scooter to the 250 Rebel.

Welcome to the forum. Think you're gonna like the Rebel.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Welcome.....Nice bike to have......bulletproof for the most part....

As an aside, I stopped riding a scooter at age 16 when I got my car driver's license....That was in 1952....In 2008, I bought a nice, used 2005 Rebel, orange in color.....I really enjoyed getting back into the swing of things on that bike..

Now at 83, father time has slowed me down and so have retired from biking, much to my dismay....But I still love bikes and check out craigslist daily just to see what's for sale..
