2005 Honda Rebel CMX250c rebuild Finger Lakes, NY

What a learning experience. Remember I have never worked on a motorcycle and am learning
Got the Carburetor rebuild done. Was running nice. On close inspection it was noticed that the throttle push cable was not right. The cable had rusted and snapped. Bought new ones on Amazon. Made sure they said the would fit. They were a little longer then the ones that were on it. I called the Honda dealer and they said it would not make a difference, Just needed to mark sure that the cable was not in the way of turning radiance of handle bars. Subjection was to stuff the extra under tank. That''s what I did. Ever thing was going well till I started her up. It was revving to high and not able to throttle down. Started making adjustments but am not able to adjust the push cable. It looks good and the tension feels good till I tighten down the bolt on the handle. Then the cable goes loose and it looks like it might fall out.

Moved to change out turn signals. Water had gotten into the left side turn signals and they where full of mud. Again I bought the turn signals on e-bay. After finishing the rear signal I turned on the bike and the lights came on but no blinking. I took the lens off and found a 10w bulb instead of the 23w needed to make the single work. 23w bulb will not go into this housing. Got to find new turn signals.

Welcome

surprised 10w bulbs don't activate honda flasher.. You have two options imo. install resistor inline to increase wattage draw as is done sometimes when installing LED signals, or obtain a 2 prong electronic flasher designed for LED signals..

Not sure about your cable, can't quite visualize the problems you are having..

96 VS800 Intruder (sold 2018 ), 87 CMX250C Rebel,
79 CB400 Hawk (sold 93), 75 CB350 (sold 83), 71 CB350 (stolen 74)
