Rebel Spotting

I was watching a YouTube series last night where this guy is melting aluminum in his homemade foundry to make a homemade metal lathe. As he is getting ready to pour the aluminum in the mold I noticed a 2nd gen Rebel parked in his driveway. So this guy is obviously a genius with the level of difficulty in his project and his choice of motorcycle.

I rarely see them in the wild. There are 12 at the local MSF business that run circles in the parking lot, can't remember ever seeing one on the road. I saw one last week while eating lunch and watching "The Price is Right"! There is also a Rebel in my living room.

I've only seen 2 Rebels in the last year riding the other way. . Once each.
One was the 2005 orange...

If I ever I see one parked sometime, I'm going to stop and talk with them.
30+ years... I wonder why you don't see more of them? . They're even hard to find here (FL) on craigslist.

I see a lot of them out here, probably more than 600 and 750 Shadows.

"Ride Safe, Chop Safer" Motorcycles are not unsafe. However; they are extremely unforgiving of inattention, incompetence, ignorance, and stupidity.
Dismantling, sawzalling, and rattle canning does not make a bobber.
Those are STEPS toward customizing, not customizing unto itself.

I work for Disneyland in California. The motorcycle parking offered to employees is awesome BTW. A few weeks ago I noticed another Rebel in the lot. I saw it now and again for a month when one day I was going home and a guy was putting on his gear. We chatted for a few minutes but I was disappointed. The first thing he said was he was saving for XXXX he seemed embarrassed by the Rebel. We won't be chatting again.

I saw one yesterday afternoon in rush hour traffic on a 4 lane highway with stoplights and speed limit of 45-55mph in stretches. I saw the low slung twin tail pipes and thought "that might be one" and confirmed as I passed him.

You want to "see" Rebels? check the Atlanta Craigslist and do a search on Rebel...two or three dozen came up for me not long ago..

Rolling Thunder and DC Police

Well, I went to Rolling Thunder this past Sunday, did a lot of walking around the Pentagon parking lot waiting for the massive ride through the capital to begin, looking hard to spot another rebel. I'm sure that there was at least 1 other, but I couldn't see it amongst the other many-hundreds-of-thousands of bikes.
But during the ride through DC I saw more than 20 outfitted with windshields and bags and flashing blue lights and marked "Washington DC Police" 1 or 2 at every intersection where officers were conducting traffic control for the procession.
