NOS Bottle & Wheelie Bars...

Guys and gals,

A coworker who recently procured a H-D (softtail standard), has transformed into a badass. And my Rebel is beneath him. Funny how that happens.

Actually, he's not so bad. He said the Rebel looks great, it's just too small (both power and size). I respect his opinion, but I love the Rebel for what it is, not what it is not.

He also said that the bike looks too weenie, and that I should strap a NOS bottle on it, just to make it look tougher. At first I scoffed and laughed at this.

Now, don't get me wrong. I will not be doing this. At least not for the foreseeable future.

But, after thinking about it wouldn't the Rebel look cool if it did have a NOS bottle and a wheelie bar attached? It would be nice if we could stick a big fat tire on the rear but I know we're limited there. I also realize that a wheelie bar is not legal on the road. But I'm guessing if I had a reasonably short one, it would probably just be ignored by local law enforcement.

I know, you know, we all know that a NOS bottle and wheelie bar would just be for looks. But the vast majority of other road users would not likely know that. It would give it a fast / tough look. And would be just for giggles. The H-D crowd might give the Rebel a 2nd look, and not turn their nose up and dismiss it so quickly.

Again, I'm not planning on doing it. Just some food for thought...

When I encounter anyone who wants to tell me what I SHOULD do with my bike, I let them finish their rant, smile, and say: "SHUT UP AND RIDE!"

I quit trying to impress others and taking advice from those more mentally impaired than I am, a long time ago. Some won't notice what is done, others will laugh, and some will like it. If you decide to do it, do it because it's what you want to do, and ignore the ones that laugh.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

I have no plans to do this. But if I saw one done, I imagine it would look kinda cool to me. It would be even cooler if it used the nitrous and NEEDED the wheelie bar!

Should have told him he looks too weenie. Shame he had to overspend in an attempt to prove he's badass. We're all on two wheels, who cares what that looks like?

My favorite T-shirt. Since he's a HD rider, he probably doesn't understand what this means. https://www.ebay.com/itm/IF-Loud-Pip...r=470234200368

I would fall on my ass laughing if I saw a NOS bottle on a Rebel.

Maybe get one of those water bottle holders you see on bicycles and put a NOS drink bottle in it?

A tube running out the top would add to the effect.
