hey was just wondering who knew what gas tanks will fit a 97 rebel 250. I cant afford a new oem one and don't want to buy one that won't fit so wanted to know if anyone knew if there were some that could be made to fit?
Quality isn't as good as OEM, and some develop leaks along the seams. If you get one, I recommend lining the tank before ever putting fuel in it. That will not only keep it from leaking, but also prevent any rust from forming. Caswell tank sealant or some other epoxy type sealant is what I would use. https://www.caswellplating.com/epox...oxy-gas-tank-sealer-mini-kit-up-to-5-gal.html
Any OEM 250 Rebel tank will fit any 250 Rebel. Beyond that the aforementioned eBay tanks are the only direct bolt-on applications, anything else would need fabrication & modification.
thanks guys I had a look on ebay and found a tank that will work and I bought the tank sealer I should be up and running in no time!
also, Flitecontrol "Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!" I love that I practically live by those words, half the parts I use these days are off old bikes I've absolutely destroyed being young and stupid
